SWow!!  What  a day.!  Absolutely PERFECT weather.   Great turnout,  Great Sponsor support.  Got to say thanks to so many people.  The day ran really smooth,  for the first one we have hosted.  We'll do some tweaking organization wize for next year,  but the buzz this year was really positive.  Thank you to everyone that participated.

Big thanks go out to  the volunteers.  David Marshall and Beth Travers (state TT wmns Champ) for sticking it out 6hrs of accurate timing and scoring.  Kevin Ray ( Team BC Cat4/Spt Mtb Racer) for his computer input. for 7 hrs. Ron Parker,  worked with me 5 hrs on Monday, 10 hrs on Friday, and 12 hrs on Saturday . Kim Harrellson, Steve Hix and Steve Capps (caveman) for all the help cleaning up .  Thanks to Tanners Mom (Sarah) and SORBA Darrell for helping with the dinner.  Thanks to my wife, her good friend Cathy, and my daughter for handling registration.  And thanks to my dad for taking care of hospitality.

The Challenge will be a 6 hour timed event that include both individuals and relays. The goal is to get in as many laps as you can in under 6 hours.

 The course will be 1 complete lap of Lock 4’s mtb trails.  The lap has 450 ft of climbing, and is dominantly rolling flowing single track.  The start line will be in the field by the lake out on the pennisula, and the finish line will be in front of the Peninsula Pavilion.   The Relay chicane will be after the finish line.  Your pit area will be will be in the field area on the pennisula.

 

 Primitive Camping will be allowed in designated areas on the peninsula, For the safety of the riders, Cars will be allowed to travel to the peninsula only before 9:30 am to drop off pit area supplies.  Please park only in the Airplane field during the event.  The road will re-open after 5:30 pm. for overnight parking  or pick up. Motor homes allowed on peninsula, in approved parking spaces only.  Please call race director before arrival. 

 Awards, Giveaways and Entertainment.  Music and Food served from 4 to 5 pm. Awards at 5:30.  We will also give away quite a bit of schwag  Then a little more music.  More info to come, check the web for updates at www.thebikerschoice.com

 

Registration Is now OPEN.   Dont wait til the last minute.  This event could sell out.  We are only going up to 150 people on the course at one time.  Get us online at ACTIVE.com .  Or call us in the store and we can take it over the phone.  We will be doing registration the morning of the event.

    Payouts and Prizes will go to top 3racers/teams. Payout categories must have at least 5racers to guarantee full purse

     

     

     

    USAC Sanctioned event

     Annual or One Day License required.  No Charge for a one day license.  All standard USAC rules will apply.  Helmets required at all times.

     Rules:

    Riders must make pre-race meeting at 9:45am.  Racers don't have to be self-supportive if you have a mechanical.  Relays are allowed to switch on the course in the event of a mechanical.  Riders are not allowed to shorten the course for any reason.  Passing  on the course  needs to be called out early and with courtesy.  The event will begin at 10:00am with a Shotgun Lemans start .  Each rider will be timed at the end of each lap.  3:30pm  will be the cut-off to begin the last lap.  Riders coming in after 3:30 will be stopped and scored by their number of laps then their finish time.  This process will go on until the last rider finishes.  Riders who finish after 4:oo pm will lose their last lap.  So, it’s the most laps finished in the fastest time before 4:00 .
